A Victorian Education
The School Day (cont'd.)

Below is the second half of our day.

2:00 P.M. Students line up. Greeted by teacher and respond in reply. Hands and shoes inspected as each of us are again called by our name.
2:20 P.M. Drill time, similar to a parade march.
2:45 P.M. Object lesson: - The Potato

The teacher instructs us about the potato, what family it's from, and how it grows.

Students now are asked one-by-one what they've learned about the potato. The teacher then asks us to write about the potato as a food.

2:50 P.M. Play time.
3:05 P.M. Students return to the classroom.  The boys are taught technical drawing and the girls, needlework.
3:30 P.M. Class is dismissed.
