For those of you who are foregoing the usual house-to-house trick or treating and are planning a party for the kids instead, here are some games that will keep them entertained.

The Best Costume

Announce the category and have the kids all out or write down on a slip of paper the name of the person they believe has the costume that best fits that category. The majority rules. Each category winner receives a prize.

Pass the Pumpkin

Take an orange or a mini stemless pumpkin. The object of the game is without using your hands to pass the pumpkin which is tucked under the chin to another person. The game continues until there is only one player left who hasn't dropped the pumpkin. A prize may be awarded.

Bobbing for Apples (Modified)

Hang apples on strings suspended from the ceiling. The object of this game is the first player who eats the entire apple wins.

Use an orange balloon on which a pumpkin face has been painted. Without using your hands keep the balloon moving by blowing on it. Any person allowing it to drop to the floor or who touches it is out.

Pumpkin Toss

Use a mini-pumpkin per two layers. The two people toss the pumpkin back and forth to each other, each time stepping back away from each other. The player that wins in each team is the one who doesn't drop the pumpkin.
