You want to create a web site and after reviewing the available web design
software, invested somewhere between $159 to $200 for the latest version of
FrontPage. Little did you know, however, that in order to use its best
features, you need to host your site on a server that supports FrontPage
extensions. Unfortunately AOL does not.
For most people, the AOL server still may be the best or only choice . . . it comes with your AOL account. And, there are viable workarounds both AOL CGI, remotely hosted and other web services available for free on the internet. Also, you know that these types of services rarely come without banners and other advertising in order for them to be able to provide these services to you FREE.
However, if you are planning to create a business site, these unsightly ads, pop-ups and links serve to identify your site as unprofessional. Hosting costs are not what they once were and you can get a good package plan for somewhere between $2.00 and $9.99 a month. Take that extra step toward giving your site the professional look it requires as well as take advantage of some of the best features FrontPage has to offer: counter, forms, discussion boards, etc. After all, these features are what sold you on the program in the first place.
For beginners, I recommend BargainHost.us for high quality, low cost hosting options. Feel free to visit their site.
