One of the most annoying and vicious acts on the internet is that of having your computer attacked by viruses, Trojans and spyware. In order to help prevent becoming a victim of these attacks, keep your virus program updated and if on broadband make sure you have a firewall installed. Regardless of your choice of programs, the secret is that you MUST keep the definitions updated.
With regard to spyware, Lavasoft's Ad-aware is one commonly used, but there are others such as Spybot Search and Destroy. Keeping your computer clear of these annoying files will help keep your computer running faster.
